How has the American story impacted your life/ values?  Is it hard to consider that this may conflict with God's Story?  Why?

Reflect on a time that you've trained for something.  What elements make the training work?  Why don't we train when it comes to faith?

Can you think of times when life experiences shaped your beliefs?  How does that still play out today?  How have these beliefs changed over time?
