Each group walks you through the Bible's complete story from Genesis to Revelation through guided, discussion-based small-group sessions.  These groups are offered year-round, but most happen in the fall and winter months.
WHAT TO EXPECT

Everything You need To Know

Who can take SFL?
SFL is for adults and mature teens who have open hearts to the Gospel.
We highly recommend that husbands and wives go through SFL together.
How can I experience an SFL group?
SFL groups are discussion-based small groups, led by a Story Guide either in person or online.  Groups are intentionally kept small (8–12 people) so every person can engage deeply with the Story and with each other.  They are offered in two formats: a weekend retreat and 11-week experiences.

For 11-week groups:
You may sign up for a group near you or join an online group.

For Retreat groups:
We offer weekend retreats in Cincinnati twice a year.  You can apply for a retreat on our retreat page.

Which is better, a retreat or an 11 week group?
Both the retreat and 11-week groups cover the same material.  How you experience it is completely up to you.  Here are some things that make each experience unique.

Retreat: The advantage of the retreat format is that you experience the whole story in one weekend.  It's similar to being immersed in an epic movie.    Though there are breaks, it is a lot of sitting and a lot of mental and emotional work.   This is a great option for you if your time is limited or you like intensives.  Retreats usually come with some financial cost to cover housing and food.

11-Week Group:  These groups cover the same content as the retreats but are divided up into weekly sections.  It's similar to watching a movie one scene a week, with time for reflection between each meeting.  This is a great option if you are looking for community and enjoy a slower pace.  These groups are offered both in person and online, and are free.

Is there homework?
During the retreat format, everything happens entirely in the room. In the 11-week format, you'll carry the Story with you between sessions, not as homework, but as something worth wrestling with.

Reflection questions are available in our App to assist you in believing the truths in a deeper way.
Can I miss part of it?
To protect the experience for everyone, we ask that all participants commit to attending every session. This isn't a drop-in—it's a journey.
When do registrations close?
Registration deadlines are different for each group.

All groups close when they have reached their max capacity.
11-week group registration closes on the day of the first meeting.
Retreat registration usually closes about 30 days before the retreat to provide time for planning.
